Amalgamation Session and Voting
A reminder that the second of our two Amalgamation Information Sessions will take place on May 9th at the Harrow Arena at 7pm.

The information sessions are an open floor Q & A.  We ask for decorum and respect while people are talking or responding and look forward to a spirited conversation.

As was published on our website, our AGM to vote on the merger will be held on Tuesday May 14th, 2024 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. For this vote to pass, 66% of the vote on May 14th must be in favour of the motion on the floor.

THE MOTION ON THE FLOOR TO BE VOTED ON MAY 14

  1. To authorize the ENSMHA Board of Directors to enter into a Merger agreement to form a new Association with Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) starting in the 2025/2026 Hockey Season and to notify the OMHA Board of Directors in writing of the same.
  2. This motion, if approved, provisionally allows the current ENSMHA Board to dissolve the current constitution and to negotiate and approve a new Constitution in a new merged Association with AMHA.
  3. This motion is conditional upon the AMHA membership approving the same motion.
  4. Any costs associated with the merger of associations will be split 50/50 between AMHA and ENSMHA for the entirety of the process.
  5. Even with the respective AMHA and ENSMHA membership approvals, either association, at any time, with majority vote from their respective boards, reserves the right to dissolve the merger talks if its felt that the dealings do not serve the best interests of either individual membership.  Any costs incurred up to that point in the merger will be covered equally by each association

WHO CAN VOTE?

Only members in good standing are able to vote. Two (2) votes (two people) per family of players under 18 years old are eligible. One membership class casts one vote.  Meaning, for example: that a parental coach gets a vote as either one of the family votes, or a volunteer vote, not an additional vote for being a volunteer member.  Parents are only eligible to vote once, not once per player. Players over the age of 18 and non-parent volunteer members get one vote.  If a player is above the age of 18, their parents do not get a vote unless they are a life member or volunteer member, however, the player gets their own vote. To be considered a member with voting rights, a player(s) must be registered with ENSMHA and paid in full.

All voting MUST take place in person. No online voting will take place, nor will any Proxy votes be allowed.
